Ylancer vs Freelancer.com: Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Ylancer and Freelancer.com?
Freelancer.com is built around bidding on projects and contests. Ylancer focuses on paid work agreed upfront: clients can buy ready-made services (quests), post jobs for proposals or accept a freelancer's custom offer.
Do I need a paid membership to bid for projects on Ylancer?
No. Ylancer has no paid membership plans for bidding. Applying to jobs is free, and freelancers with the Struggler badge can apply to 15 jobs every day. Freelancer.com limits the number of bids on its free plan and sells memberships for more.
What fees does Ylancer charge compared with Freelancer.com?
Ylancer charges freelancers a 10% commission only on completed mandates and charges clients nothing. Freelancer.com takes project fees from both freelancers and employers and offers paid upgrades, so check its current pricing to compare the full cost.
Does Ylancer run contests like Freelancer.com?
No. Ylancer does not use contests where freelancers deliver work before they know if they will be paid. Every mandate on Ylancer starts from a quest purchase, an accepted proposal or a custom offer, with the payment held in escrow.
Is it safe to get paid through Ylancer?
Yes. Ylancer uses escrow and secure payment gateways: the client's payment is held until they approve the work, then released to the freelancer. Disputes can be raised in the Resolution Center and are reviewed by Ylancer's support team.
Can clients buy ready-made services on Ylancer?
Yes. Quests are fixed-price services with clear packages and delivery times, so clients can hire a freelancer in a few clicks without writing a project brief or waiting for bids.
How do I move my freelance work from Freelancer.com to Ylancer?
Sign up for free, complete your profile to 100%, add portfolio items and publish quests for your main services. Then apply to matching jobs and send custom offers to clients who contact you.
What kinds of freelance services can I find on Ylancer?
Ylancer covers 700+ categories, including programming and tech, design, digital marketing, writing and translation, music and audio, business, data, video and animation, and AI services.
How does Ylancer help freelancers stand out from the crowd?
Ylancer's badge system rewards good work: Top Performer and Elite Expert freelancers get much more profile visibility and top recommendations, and quests are listed in category pages and search, so clients can find you without a bidding war.
Can I hire freelancers from any country on Ylancer?
Yes. Ylancer connects clients with freelancers worldwide, so you can hire talent from any country and communicate, share files and agree on offers directly in Ylancer's chat.
